PPC vs SEO
Hello,
My name is Matthew Boley and I am writing this today to help others save time and money when it comes to marketing. I am the proud owner of http://www.affordableseo-services.com.
Many people use PPC and SEO together, and many also use PPC or SEO by them self. I am here today to shine some light on which you actually need, what to do with them, and what they are for.
If your like many and your in need of traffic to your website, you have thought about SEO or PPC. Many people will take what they think is the easy way out and try PPC, but they end up having a bad experiences with it, because they don't know anything about Adwords. Since many don't know how to use adwords correctly they get poor results.
So lets assume you went with the SEO and it took you 6 months to get a great keyword, well now this keyword doesn't convert with your website "oh no". Now your looking at all of the money you spent on SEO and thinking why did I do this and saying to your self "SEO is a Scam". The facts are the SEO company got you the word you wanted them to, the biggest part is did you see if the keyword converted for your website before you started it?
Steps to take before going with any company or trying PPC yourself.
1. Search Google's Keyword tool for Adwords, make sure you find a keyword that gets hits per month. On the left side of your screen make sure you check exact, so you can see the exact amount of people that search for your specific term instead of global meaning variations of your keyword.
2. Now that you know some keywords that you want, find long tail variations of your keyword. You can find many tools on the internet that will allow you to type in your keyword and see several long tail terms relevant to your keyword. Not all of the keywords the tools find will be relevant to what you want, but some will and that's what counts.
3. Contact an affordable SEO services company and consult with them about the competitiveness of your keywords. They will tell you the likeliness of you getting this keyword for your website.
4. Now it's time to make sure these keywords work for your website. Never take anyone's word for it, because they don't run your site and don't have a clue how it will convert until they try.
- Start up a PPC campaign for each keyword that you think would work for your website.
- Setup a budget that is right for you, but not to cheap or your not going to get a good enough trial of the keywords for your site.
- Run this campaign until you get several conversions or for 1 month and have had noluck at all. If after 1 month you don't get conversions you may want to think aboutpossible keyword changes or a new graphics to help your website convert better.
5. If you found that your keywords you picked converted well for you, consult the SEO company you contacted and go ahead with your SEO. SEO if performed correctly will in most cases maximize your ROI for keywords vs PPC if the keywords aren't to competitive. Make sure that the company performing your SEO is a white hat ethical company that only does manual submissions instead of using software which will penalize or ban your website.
6. Enjoy your results! If you want to continue to run PPC while the SEO company works on your keywords then this is a great idea so you get some traffic coming in while they are working on it. You can also run PPC with SEO, especially on keywords that would take years to attain.
